Canberra Youth Orchestra 50 - James Morrison

Celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2017, the Canberra Youth Orchestra present their Llewellyn Hall concert series.

CYO’s final Llewellyn Hall concert of 2017 will feature inimitable jazz icon James Morrison AM. One of Australia’s leading performers, James’s ARIA-award-winning performance career regularly takes him overseas to perform in major concert venues throughout Europe and America, including at the Hollywood Bowl and the Royal Albert Hall – not to mention in all of Australia’s foremost venues. Best known for his trumpet playing, James also plays saxophone, clarinet, flugelhorn, bass trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, double bass, guitar and piano! He has composed many pieces, including the opening to the 2000 Sydney Olympic games, which he also performed.

Combined with the Canberra Youth Orchestra performing Gershwin’s An American in Paris and Copland’s Appalachian Spring, you will delight in some of the most popular melodies from the 20th Century. You won’t want to miss this ebullient conclusion to the Canberra Youth Orchestra’s 2017 subscription series!
